Apprentice
The Role: Are you ready to jump-start your career in the low voltage and life safety industry? As an Apprentice at Omni Technology, you will learn the trade from the ground up by working side-by-side with our experienced technicians. This is an entry-level position focused on training, safety, and hands-on skill development.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist lead technicians with pulling, routing, and installing cables (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, etc.) for security, fire, and data systems.

Help mount equipment such as cameras, card readers, and control panels.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all job sites.
-
Learn to safely use industry-standard hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Transport materials and tools to and from job sites.
What We’re Looking For:

A strong willingness to learn, work hard, and take direction.

Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand/power tools.
-
Physical ability to climb ladders, work in varying environments (indoors and outdoors), and lift up to 50 lbs.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Low Voltage Tech I
The Role: As a Tech I, you have a solid foundation in low voltage systems and are ready to take on more independent work. You will be responsible for the core physical installations of our security, data, and life safety projects, ensuring our work meets Omni Technology’s high standards for quality and neatness.
Key Responsibilities:

Independently pull, route, and support cable pathways in commercial environments.

Perform basic terminations, labeling, and testing of copper and coax cables.

Install end-point devices, including CCTV cameras, motion detectors, and access control strikes/mag locks.
-
Build out of Network Closets, Alarm Panels, Access Panels.
-
Read and interpret basic floor plans and blueprints to determine installation locations.
-
Follow strict safety guidelines and assist in guiding Apprentices on-site.
What We’re Looking For:
-
1–2 years of hands-on experience in the low voltage, security, or life safety industry.
-
Solid understanding of cable color codes, wiring standards, and basic termination techniques.
-
Familiarity with standard testing equipment (e.g., cable toners, multimeters, testers).
-
Strong attention to detail and pride in clean cable management.

Low Voltage Tech II
The Role: Our Tech IIs are the experienced problem-solvers on the job site. In this role, you will handle complex installations, system programming, and troubleshooting. You will also serve as a leader on the floor, ensuring projects stay on track and helping mentor our junior technicians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced terminations, including fiber optic splicing and multi-pair copper cabling.

Build out MDF/IDF closets, including rack assembly, patch panel installation, and complex wire routing.
-
Program, configure, and commission security, access control, and basic life safety/fire alarm panels.
-
Handle IP network configurations, including setting up network switches, assigning IP addresses, and configuring VLANs for security and data devices.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system faults, ground faults, and networking issues.
-
Read and execute complex schematics, riser diagrams, and technical manuals.
-
Provide on-site leadership, direct Tech I's and Apprentices, and communicate progress to Project Managers.
What We’re Looking For:
-
3–5+ years of experience installing and servicing low voltage, security, and life safety systems.
-
Experience configuring specific security or fire alarm platforms (e.g., Fire Lite, Silent Knight, Honeywell, Bosch, Hanwha, etc.).
-
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a deep understanding of electrical circuits and low voltage principles.
-
Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local building codes.
-
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., NICET, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific certs) are a strong plus.

Low Voltage Tech III
The Role: As a Tech III, you are the senior technical expert and field leader at Omni Technology. You will spearhead our most complex, large-scale security and life safety projects from start to finish. In this senior role, you will be responsible for enterprise-level system integration, advanced networking, and final commissioning, all while mentoring your team and ensuring our projects are delivered flawlessly to the client.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead field crews on large-scale, multi-phase commercial and industrial projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and up to code.

Perform advanced programming, integration, and commissioning of enterprise access control, CCTV, and complex fire alarm systems.
-
Conduct comprehensive system testing, perform final Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) walkthroughs, and lead client training sessions upon project handover.

Act as the primary technical liaison between the field team, Project Managers, and the client, communicating project status and resolving high-level technical roadblocks.

Provide direct mentorship, training, and performance feedback for Tech I, Tech II, and Apprentice team members.
What We’re Looking For:
-
5–7+ years of extensive experience in the low voltage, security, and life safety industries, with a proven track record of field leadership.
-
Strong Networking skills, with a deep understanding of IP-based security systems and network architecture.
-
Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and local building/fire codes.
-
Senior-level industry certifications (e.g., NICET II/III, BICSI Technician) are highly preferred.
-
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
